Welcome! I'm Lisa Stacy, founder of Critter Sitter of VA located in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Originally from Southern California, I relocated to Northern Virginia over 15 years ago. Animals have always been a love of mine since young childhood and I truly believe they are part of the family and our livelihood.  Over time, I discovered how stressful and difficult it is to find someone to care for our pets.  After retiring from my corporate accounting career, I spent several years volunteering with civic organizations, but I still felt something was missing.  I wanted to help animals and be able to make a difference so I decided to share my animal compassion with others.  

 

Critter Sitter of VA is a professional pet-sitting company. Our clients know that they are trusting their loved ones and their homes to a well-established, experienced, qualified, insured, and bonded business.

 

We understand that owning and taking care of a pet is a large investment, so we make our services affordable and competitive. We offer an assortment of services at many different price points to accommodate all pet care budgets.

Our top-notch team is comprised of dedicated pet care professionals who view their time with us as part of their career path.  We conduct a screening process and background checks on all sitters and provide training and education benefits for all staff.  Your pet will never be unattended to, as we work with sitter teams and always have a backup available.
 

By understanding no two homes or two pets are exactly alike, we offer a wide variety of services to precisely fit your needs, including in-home pet care, dog walking services, and home checks.  

 

To help our business run smoothly, we use a high-tech scheduling and database system so NO pet is ever left behind. This portal also provides convenience for our clients to book pet care, view their service calendar, and update their billing information and password. Our clients can keep their files up-to-date electronically so nothing falls through the cracks. Our software also provides a mobile application, which allows our clients to keep in real-time contact with their pet sitter. Our management oversees all messaging and interaction between the sitter and the client to assure the visit is running smoothly.

As pet care professionals, we provide our clients with a phenomenal pet care experience. This is done not only with top-notch pet care but also with spectacular customer service. We understand the value of open communication. We monitor voicemail, text/app chat, and email in case of an emergency. Additionally, our sitters leave real-time detailed journals after each visit to keep you updated on your furry loved ones by sending you texts, pictures, and notes immediately after each visit.

For the safety of our fur clients, our walkers require all walks to be leashed and all yards to be secure.  We require well-fitted collars/harnesses for any pet permitted outdoors in an unsecured area; we do not use retractable leashes, or prong/choke collars for the safety of your pet and our staff.  We ask that all physical ailments and allergies be detailed on your pet profiles.  Generally, we do not allow the pets in our care to interact with others during their outing nor do we visit dog parks for safety reasons. Your pet’s health and safety are our number one priority.

 

Our experience and knowledge allow us to better understand your pet’s needs and how to best interact with them. Critter Sitter of VA believes in continual education for our pet sitters. As such, we are always updating our expertise in animal behavior and animal care.
